What ConfirmGuy is
ConfirmGuy is a set of money calculators for pay that does not fit a standard salary. Most take-home and tax calculators assume a salaried W-2 job with taxes already withheld. These tools cover the cases those leave out: pricing a job, comparing a W-2 offer against a 1099 offer, driver pay by the mile, splitting a tip pool, and budgeting on income that changes.
Who it's for
Freelancers and 1099 contractors, tradespeople, company and contract drivers, and tipped and service workers — anyone whose income changes from week to week, or whose pay is quoted in a form a payroll calculator does not take.
How the tools work
Every calculator runs in your browser. The income, rates, and tips you type are not sent to a server or stored anywhere — the math happens on your own device. Each tool shows a line-by-line breakdown of how the result was reached, rather than a single figure.
Where the numbers come from
Wage figures come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, tax figures from the IRS rules for the current tax year, and tip and wage law from the U.S. Department of Labor and the state labor departments. Where a number is a modeled estimate rather than a hard rule — an approximate state tax rate, a self-employed earnings range — it is labeled as an estimate. How it's paid for
ConfirmGuy is supported by advertising. Sources are cited on the tools themselves and gathered on the Methodology page.
